Palm Beach events at the Brazilian court

2013 Brazilian Court Author Breakfast “Double Feature February” February 1, 2013

Moderator: Scott Eyman.  Eminent American author, biographer and historian, David Nasaw brings to life the story of Joseph Patrick Kennedy, in The Patriarch: The Remarkable Life and Turbulent Times of Joseph P. Kennedy, the first and only biography based on unrestricted and exclusive access to the Joseph P. Kennedy papers from 8:45 AM - 10:00 AM.  Though his incredible life encompasses the heart of the American century, Kennedy has remained shrouded in rumor and prejudice for decades.

Also appearing is Mary Fisher, author of Messenger: A Self Portrait, who has deep roots in Palm Beach – her mother is Marjorie Fisher, a beloved philanthropist and island resident. The younger Fisher took America by storm in1992, when she addressed the Republican National Convention and gave the world a new face of American AIDS: a winsome mother who had contracted the virus from her husband. Privilege had not shielded her from the virus.  In a lively voice devoid of self-pity and filled with humor, Fisher tells a story of strength and hope, and demonstrates with humor and healing how she grew into a woman of strength and wisdom, and emerged from illness and depression.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Author breakfasts are held in The Ballroom at Café Boulud.  Reservations are required and tickets are nonrefundable.  Tickets are $100 plus tax per person and include breakfast, valet parking and a copy of the featured book.
